Latest gamescom brought a lot of interesting footage of previously announced games. The event also saw the presentation of awards to devs whose works particularly stood out from the competition - among the winners were studio 2Awesome and publisher Playstack, who won the trophy for best independent game - AK-xolotl, presented as demo version.

Awarded and robbed

The developers did not enjoy the prize won at the German fair for long. The trophy was stolen by some brazen thief, to whom Playstack directed its latest entry on X with an accompanying photo of the statuette surrounded by images from AK-xolotl.

The publisher informs the thief that it's not too late to return the stolen item. It is also noted that the developers have put a lot of effort into preparing the demo for gamescom 2023.

Playstack also appealed to all those who may have seen the above trophy. If they do, they are asked to contact the publisher urgently.

AK-xolotl with release in September

At the recently concluded gamescom, the title was presented to the public as demo. Those interested can currently check out this version on Steam.

Let's point out that AK-xolotl is a roguelike shooter. Players take on the role of the titular axolotl, which, although it appears to be a harmless amphibian, fights enemies in the animal kingdom with AK rifles.

Recall that AK-xolotl will officially debut on September 14. The game will hit PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
