Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting - Summary

During the Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting event we learned a lot about the improvements that the next installment of the series will offer. Big changes are coming to the mechanics of using scouts to spot players worthy of recruitment.

Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting is over. This was the last of three broadcasts (the previous two being The Future of First-Person Shooters and EA Originals 3s Independent Studios) designed to whet our appetites ahead of Thursday's EA Play Live 2021 presentation.

True to its name, the event was dedicated to Madden NFL 22, this year's installment in the most popular American football gaming franchise. It showcased an improved match-planning system that will more fully utilize real-world team and game data, as well as data from other players, and will enable us to change our lineups during halftime.

Like last year's installment, Madden NFL 22 will be developed in the style known from live-service games. The production will debut in August, and will receive a major update with new content in September. Its most important element will be a thoroughly reworked scouting system. Instead of the tedious, weekly allocation of points from the pool we are to make decisions on this issue in the key moments of each season. This area will no longer be handled by one universal team. Now we will have many individual scouts with different specialties who will be sent to different regions of the USA to observe players playing for other teams.

The AI will also be much more efficient at finding talented players. There will be no more situations where we find a promising athlete with a winning streak whom no one has tried to recruit. Interestingly enough, if our scouts pay a lot of attention to a particular person, it is likely that the media will be interested in him and, as a result, rivals as well. If we try to be more careful, we will get less information. This also opens up intriguing possibilities in online leagues, as we'll be able to try and confuse other players by sending scouts to players we're not really interested in.

Madden NFL 22 is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on August 16 this year.

And what about the new Skate?

EA has released a new video dedicated to the next installment of the Skate series. It is supposed to compensate fans a bit for the fact that the game will not appear during EA Play Live 2021, as the project is not yet ready for a full presentation.

Unfortunately, the video featured no gameplay. It only contains the reactions of fans, who are consulted by the devs when working on the game This is disappointing, but the creators openly admit that the game is at too early a stage of development for them to present gameplay footage.
