Marvel's Avengers Catches Second Wind? Positive Reviews on Steam

Marvel's Avengers is getting more and more positive reviews on Steam. Will the game regain the audience lost after the launch?

Marvel's Avengers has had its fair share of problems since its inception. The game's poor launch brought Square Enix big losses, and the popularity of the game on Steam gradually declined. However, already in November last year, Yosuke Matsuda, CEO of the Japanese publisher, stated that the company would not abandon the game and would try to turn this financial failure into a success. The effects of this decision could be seen over the past few months and apparently the game is changing for the better. According to a chart from Steam, 79% of reviews from the last month are positive and most new, good reviews appeared at the turn of July and August. However, taking into account all the comments since the release, only 67% of users rated it positively.

The popularity of the last free weekend at the end of July, where at the peak moment the game was played by up to 10 thousand users at the same time, also testifies to the increasingly better reception. It is also worth mentioning that the developers are constantly releasing new updates. In March, a free DLC with Hawkeye was released, and yesterday, August 17, there was a big update with Black Panther, which introduced, among others, a new story, locations and faction. Recently, we also learned that most likely this year the owners of the game on PlayStation consoles will be able to play as Spider-Man.

As you can see, the creators care about the development of the game and there is hope on the horizon that Square Enix will manage to save Marvel's Avengers. Do you think it will happen?
