Spider-Man Coming to Marvel's Avengers on PlayStation Later This Year

One of the devs of Marvel's Avengers stated that we will most likely see a PlayStation-exclusive DLC featuring Spider-Man later this year.

Marvel's Avengers, a game by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal studios released in September 2020, has had quite a few problems since its inception. The game's poor launch did not guarantee a financial success, but the developers do not stop in their efforts to develop and improve their game. Today marks the launch of a major update with Black Panther, and later this year, PlayStation owners can expect a free exclusive DLC with Spider-Man.

We first heard about this expansion over a year ago. Since then, we haven't heard much more. We know little more than that the developers announced it for 2021. As the timeframe is slowly closing, fans began to worry whether the developers will manage to keep their promise. A journalist from Screen Rant asked the developers when we can expect the DLC. Scott Walters, senior designer of Marvel's Avengers, replied that as far as he could tell right now, the studio has always planned to release this DLC in 2021 and nothing has changed so far, so fans can expect new announcements soon.

For now, it's unclear what impact Spider-Man will have on the story told in Marvel's Avengers. Are you looking forward to seeing Spidey in the game, or have you lost interest long ago?
