IN A NUTSHELL:
  • The studio of the director of the Mass Effect trilogy has announced its debut project;
  • The team is working on a game in a new sci-fi universe.
  • The essence of the game is to be an interesting world and a compelling story.

BioWare has lost a very important employee in 2020 after Casey Hudson, the company's CEO and director of the Mass Effect has left the studio's ranks.

A few months later he announced launching his own studio. It is called Humanoid and it was known from the beginning that he would develop his own original IP. Now we learned something more about this project.

Back to space

The studio launched its own website, albeit featuring little information about the team's first game. We know that the developers are working on a sci-fi universe.

Humanoid Studios also revealed that the essence of the game created by them is to be a good story. The title will present players with an interesting world and complex characters.

Focusing on the story may appeal to people who are already tired of numerous network live-service games. The discussed title will most likely be a work created with single-player gameplay in mind.

For now, this is all we know about the project. The creators did not even reveal the game's name and did not share the planned release date.

Small team, big ambitions

On the studio's website we can also find information about the composition of the Humanoid team. It shows that it is a relatively small group of ambitious developers.

The creators intend to produce a title from the AAA segment, which will be their own work. The team wants to remain independent and follow their own rules.

Each member of the studio has the right to share his own vision of the project and a have real impact on its shape. Whether this kind of approach actually works out, we still have to wait a bit longer.
