Fans of creating creative buildings and exploring the world in Minecraft were not particularly looking forward to the premiere of the spin-off titled Legends. Although there are elements related to building in this game, the lion's share of the fun is commanding an army during dynamic battles. Apparently, there was really little interest in this title, because today the creators announced that Minecraft Legends will no longer be developed.

"Death" of the game is cowned by the last challenge from the Lost Legends series, called Snow vs Snouts. As part of the news announcing this update, the developers announced the end of their adventure with Minecraft Legends.

"Since the premiere, we have been paying attention to the community's opinion and have introduced a number of changes and improvements to make the game even better. Since this has been done, we now intend to cease further development."

The creators have made it clear that Minecraft Legends will no longer receive major updates or DLCs in the Marketplace. The game will still receive technical support, so you can expect only small fixes to eliminate serious bugs.

In addition, no features or challenges added so far will be removed from Minecraft Legends, and the online cooperation mode will continue to function. The creators say goodbye to fans with a gift, which is the free skin called Bright-Eyed Hero.

Although we do not know the official sales data for the game, it can be assumed that Legends turned out to be a flop. The creators abandoned development of the game less than a year after the premiere, and let us remind you that another spin-off of the series, Minecraft Dungeons, was supported for over 3 years.

You can see how unpopular Minecraft Legends is, just by looking at the data from SteamDB. For several months now, only a few dozen people have been playing this game on Steam at any time (let us note that the title is also available on consoles and in PC/Xbox Game Pass).

It is worth adding that Legends was not warmly received by fans. On Steam out of 2,000 reviews only 61% are positive, and on Metacritic the average score of reviewers for the PC version of the game is 65/100. One can only hope that any future project from Microsoft will prove to be more interesting, and will not disappoint with repetitiveness and emptiness.
