Minecraft - New Patch Enables Lanterns to Glow Under Water

The Snapshot 20w30a update has introduced some small but useful changes to Minecraft. Among other things, from now on we can put lanterns under water.

Minecraft (more specifically its Java Edition) received a patch introducing a few minor changes. This is a snapshot update, so work on this version is not yet fully completed, but the developers decided to share the results with the gaming community.

The most important changes introduced by this particular Snapshot include the possibility of placing lanterns as well as ethereal lanterns under water. Bastion Remnant, a structure found in Nether, was also changed. From now on, it is more likely that a Gilded Blackstone chest will appear inside. What is more, the contents of the chests in the Bastion will be more tempting from now on.

Years go by, and the work in Minecraft continues.

Many minor errors have also been fixed and several improvements have been made to the respawn system. From now on, we will avoid a rebirth near dangerous blocks. We will also appear on the side of the bed where we were standing before we used it.

The full list of changes can be found here. If we want to download the new Snapshot, remember to back up our worlds, as this is an unfinished version of the game and can damage our saved games.
