Bloody Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Confirms Many Iconic Kombatants
The latest trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, focused on Lin Kuei warriors, introduced players to two more playable characters. The ninjas from before will also return in guest appearances.
The latest trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 from NetherRealm Studios showcases several familiar faces. The footage is not only a preview of old-new fighters, but also guest appearance of several lesser-known characters.
Trailer focuses on members of the Lin Kuei - a clan that brings gathers exquisite assassins and warriors.
In addition to the most classic heroes - the "fiery" Scorpion and the "icy" Sub-Zero - another featured character turned out to be Smoke. This ninja - who made his debut in the series as a hidden boss in Mortal Kombat II - demonstrated to us his ability to control smoke.
Players were also introduced to Rain - a warrior wielding the element of water, who in the latest installment lived to see a classy staff.
In addition to these two characters, a small part of the trailer also features three other ninjas:
- Cyrax and Sektor - two cyborg members of the Lin Kuei from Mortal Kombat 3 era;
- Frost - cryomancer and Sub-Zero's apprentice.
Although these characters will not appear in Mortal Kombat 1 as playable fighters, their presence as part of the Kameo Fighters represents a nice nod to fans of the series.
As a reminder: Mortal Kombat 1 will go on sale September 19. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
