Mortal Shell Coming to Steam; The Virtuous Cycle DLC Gameplay Revealed

Mortal Shell will finally be available on Steam. The work of Cold Symmetry will hit the platform simultaneously with the debut of DLC The Virtuous Cycle, which was presented on the first gameplay video.

The Virtuous Cycle - the first DLC for Mortal Shell - will launch on August 18, the anniversary of the release date of the successful soulslike game developed by Cold Symmetry. The date was announced on Steam, where the game will launch alongside the expansion (for now, the PC players must use Epic Games Store). On the same day Mortal Shell is also expected to be released on GOG.com, although this was not mentioned again in the new announcement. Moreover, the developers showed the first gameplay, thanks to which we can see how the expansion, announced in June, looks like in action. We posted the video below.

Apart from the release date, the devs also revealed the attractions prepared for the purchasers of the DLC. The Virtuous Cycle will introduce a new gameplay mode inspired by roguelike games, which will offer a constantly changing world. Each playthrough will be completely different, which along with more than a hundred unique improvements will encourage the players to repeat sessions with the expansion. There will also be a new "mortal shell" and transforming weapons, as well as further information on Mortal Shell's lore.
