Multiplayer coop not working in PoE 2. Crashing, booting to menu and random people explained
There are serious issues with coop right now. Don’t use it.
Finally, more and more people can play Path of Exile 2 after severe server issues. To be honest, they are still not fully fixed, but it seems that the situation is much better. It is good to the extent that first players start to invite others to their games. However, we advise not to do that, as the multiplayer is broken right now.

As it was stated, coop is not working right now. There are a few issues with it. For some, the game crashes or sends people back to queue once they try to change locations. It is connected with server issues, as mentioned before.
Moreover, some players are connected with random people. It is also a known bug. On X, developers have admitted that thy are aware of the problem. However, probably, they have other, more urgent, issues to fix. We need to be patient and wait for official patches.
