Naraka: Bladepoint Beta Ends Up in Top 6 Most Popular Steam Games

Beta tests of the close-combat battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint turned out to be quite a success. An activity record of over 120 thousand players was set.

While it might seem that there's not an inch of free space left in the battle royale games segment, there are still titles coming out proving that this is not the case. On April 24, the beta tests of Naraka: Bladepoint from Chinese studio 24 Entertainment launched. This game immediately attracted a large group of interested people - at the peak moment it gathered over 120 thousand players at the same time and climbed to the 6th place of the most popular positions on Steam.

While writing this message the stats are not much worse. The production is played by 85 thousand people at the same time, losing the 6th spot by a hair's breadth. Naraka: Bladepoint has overtaken Team Fortress 2, Path of Exile and Rainbow Six Siege, among others.

An unusual approach to the genre may be behind the game's success. In Naraka: Bladepoint we are put on a map together with 59 other people. Traditionally, the last player standing wins. However, the entire combat system is based on melee weapons, and exploration was enriched with elements of parkour.

Testing of Naraka: Bladepoint will last until April 27. Interested parties can request access to the beta via the game's tab on Steam.
