New Clues of Need for Speed Unbound's Imminent Debut; Testing Begins

According to leaks, testing of NfS Unbound will begin on October 13. The latest racing game in the iconic series is expected to be officially announced by EA next week.

According to reports by Tom Henderson published on Insider Gaming, on October 13 playtesting of the upcoming installment of the Need for Speed is set to begin, allegedly subtitled Unbound. The action will involve people from the EA Playtesting program, which you can sign up for here. The publisher is sending out invitations that include a series of questions on the subject of racing games. Participants will be able to test the game until October 18, for six hours each day, and will be rewarded with four games from the Electronic Arts portfolio.

Requirements for testers are as follows.:

  • A personal computer or laptop (does not have to be gaming hardware),
  • a PlayStation or Xbox console controller,
  • Internet connection (wired or via stable Wi-Fi) with a speed of 100 Mbit/s,
  • webcam,
  • headphones with a microphone.

Significantly, EA has not yet officially announced NfS Unbound, but this could happen as early as next week.

According to unofficial reports, the game is scheduled for release on December 2, this year, exclusively on PC and current-gen consoles, i.e. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The leaks mention emphasis on multiplayer mode using the returning Autolog system. The visuals are expected to be unique and offer realism with cartoonish elements.
