New Gameplay Trailer for ILL Looks Wonderfully Hideous

During yesterday's Future Games Show, we were able to get a glimpse of impressive gameplay from the upcoming horror game ILL. The game is being developed by an independent studio on Unreal Engine 5 and promises to be meaty.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • During the Future Games Show a short gameplay footage from ILL was shown.
  • This indie horror game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and is expected to offer advanced physics.
  • The developers are asking the community to support the project on Patreon.

Only about a 30-second fragment of gameplay was shown (available below), but the game is quite impressive. Distorted monster bodies are very well designed and perfectly animated, and the environment is dripping with realistic detail and atmosphere.. The overall visualstyle may bring to mind a mix of Dead Space and Resident Evil VII.

ILL is a sick horror for Dead Space fans

The game is expected to offer advanced physics, interactive environments, and real-time dismemberment and body transformations in real time. The developers also promise that the story will not be overcomplicated, but will focus on accessibility and shocking discoveries.

It's hard to believe that ILL is being developed by a small studio that began working on the game in its spare time (it's a full-time job now). The developers from Team Clout need additional funding. Talks with investors apparently did not bring enough results, because the project can still be supported through Patreon.

Work is progressing smoothly, and the war in Ukraine has not had a negative impact on the work so far (most of the eight-person team is located in Russia, but some tasks are performed by contract workers from Ukraine).

Release date and target platforms are currently unknown. The creators on their Twitter announced that they are working on a demo version.
