Discover your inner architect in the relaxing world of Islands & Trains. Design serene landscapes at your own pace.
Here comes another cozy game to help us all unwind, Islands & Trains is pulling into the station on May 29, 2025, on Steam. Don’t worry though, this isn’t some hardcore management sim or complex strategy game. It’s all about relaxing, getting creative, and just enjoying the ride.
If you’re into chill builders like Dorfromantik, Tiny Glade, or Townscaper, there’s a good chance this one’s going to steal your heart. It’s low-key, soothing, and perfect for when you just want to zone out and make something beautiful.
Islands & Trains is all about designing your perfect train route on a charming island landscape that you shape from the ground up. We can curve out tracks around scenic mountains, cross shimmering lakes, and connect adorable little towns – all at our own pace. We can even add animals, decorate the terrain, and tweak the surroundings to match our vision.
There’s no pressure here, no objectives to chase, no countdowns, and definitely no wrong moves. Just a peaceful space to decompress, experiment, and enjoy the process. It’s not about winning or finishing, just creating something picturesque and watching it come to life, one track at a time. It’s a pure sandbox experience, with a relaxing vibe, simple mechanics, and aesthetic appeal. Like creating a living, animated postcard.
Islands & Trains is being developed by indie developer Fabi Smith, in collaboration with publisher Future Friends Games.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
