New on Steam. Awaited RPG Banishers and Spin-off

This week, games such as Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II, Helskate, Colonize, Clash II, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Solium Infernum and Islands of Insight will debut on Steam.

Welcome to our series in which we discuss the most important upcoming releases on Steam. After last week's drought (triggered by the fear of game releases during Steam Next Fest), the coming days will bring a ton of interesting new launches. Fans of RPGs, adventure games, and strategies should be particularly satisfied.

Release of the week Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (February 13, 2024)

For the release of the week, we chose Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. It's an action-packed RPG with a rich storyline, heavily inspired by The Witcher 3, where we'll be hunting ghosts in North America at the end of the 17th century.

The game is developed by the Don't Nod studio. The team is mainly known for its adventure games, particularly the Life is Strange series, but they also have one action RPG called Vampyr, which has received 76% positive reviews on Steam.

The most important releases on Steam: February 12-18, 2024

February 12th

Airhead

Airhead is a unique title that combines elements of metroidvania and puzzle game. During the course of the play, we will direct a pair of characters (one is missing a head, and the other is just a head) whose bodies have been fused together, and their condition will prove crucial for overcoming obstacles and solving puzzles.

Off-Road: Redneck Racing

Today, Off-Road: Redneck Racing will also be released for sale on Steam. This is a reissue of the racing game from 2001.

Dragon Quest Builders

Dragon Quest Builders will finally make its debut on PC this week, as a spin-off of the popular JRPG series, featuring gameplay enriched with survival and crafting elements.

We've been waiting for the game for a very long time - the console original was released in 2016. The sequel came to PC five years ago, and most players believed that there was no chance for a conversion of the first installment. That's why its announcement turned out to be a pleasant surprise, especially considering that Dragon Quest Builders is highly regarded - according to OpenCritic, the game has an average rating of 83%.

Islands of Insight

Islands of Insight is a puzzle game with more than 10,000 riddles waiting to be solved. What's unusual about this game is that the fun takes place in an MMO world, with hundreds of people playing together. So we can solve puzzles alone or in co-op with others.

Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior

Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior looks interesting. This is an isometric action game spiced up with RPG elements, in which we will direct a heroine who can go back in time, which she will use to create armies composed of different versions of herself.

The demo available on Steam is really cool, so we have high expectations for the full version.

News Tower (early access)

News Tower, on the other hand, is an economic strategy with a theme rarely seen in this genre - we will be managing the editorial office of a small New York newspaper, and our goal will be to turn it into the most widely read title in the city.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor (early access)

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will definitely be a hot topic this week. This game is a shooter-roguelike spin-off of the popular online production from Ghost Ship Publishing studio. It was developed by Funday Games, responsible for Don't Die In The West (76% positive reviews on Steam)

The game has generated significant interest, being the fourth most popular demo at last year's Steam Next Fest.

Solium Infernum

4X strategies usually don't provide unconventional settings, so we are eagerly anticipating the launch of Solium Infernum, which deviates from this norm. The game will allow us to direct one of the demon armies, which is waging war with other devils for control over Hell.

The game demo (unfortunately no longer available) was very promising, so we hope that the full version will deliver. There's a high likelihood of success because the team behind the project, League of Geeks, has a well-received game, Armello (82% positive reviews on Steam), to their credit.

The Adventures of The Black Hawk

Fans of old-school point-n-click adventure games may be interested in The Adventures of The Black Hawk. The game tells the story of a masked vigilante in search of justice in 18th century France. So in practice, it's like Zorro, but with the action set on a different continent.

White Sands (early access)

On Wednesday, White Sands will be released in early access. We will rebuild human civilization in this RTS game set in a post-apocalyptic world by constructing bases and enhancing technology. Interestingly, our armies will be embarking on missions, but we won't have direct control over the units during those missions.

Caribbean Legend

Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale won't be the only pirate-themed game debuting on Steam this week. On Thursday, we are looking forward to the premiere of Caribbean Legend, an RPG game that allows you to become a pirate.

It should be underlined that this isn't a new game. Instead, it's anticipated to be a more extensive and enhanced edition of the 2016 release Sea Dogs: To Each His Own, which holds a 73% positive review rating on Steam.

The latest fruit of this will be the T'au expansion, which will introduce a new titular faction to the game.
