Plague Inc. PC Gets Free DLC The Cure

Plague Inc: The Cure, a free DLC that lets players tackle global pandemics, has debuted on PC.

As promised last year, the PC edition of Plague Inc: Evolved received the The Cure DLC for free. The expansion already launched on mobile devices last year, but has only now made its way to PC.

The add-on will remain free until the coronavirus pandemic situation is under control. When that happens, The Cure will transform into a paid DLC. It's worth mentioning that it's a non-standalone expansion, so the full version of Plague Inc: Evolved is required to play.

The Cure was developed in cooperation with experts from WHO (World Health Organization), GOARN (Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network), and CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation). Thanks to this, the game can serve as an educational tool, making it easier for the players to understand what the fight against modern plagues is all about.

In contrast to the basic version of Plague Inc, where the player's task is to spread diseases around the world, in the add-on we deal with neutralizing them. Among other things, we have to find the patient 0, discover methods of virus transmission, introduce relevant regulations to help control the pandemic, and finally develop vaccines. It is also necessary to take care of the economy and gain public support.

Plague Inc: The Cure is receiving warm reception so far. At the time of writing this text, the DLC has 280 reviews on Steam and 81% of them are positive.
