PlatinumGames CEO Reassures: Bayonetta 3 Still in the Works

Hideki Kamiya, CEO of the Japanese studio PlatinumGames, said in a press interview that Bayonetta 3 is still under development. The developers have also started working on the so-called G.G. Project.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Bayonetta 3 is doing fine. The fans have no reason to worry;
  2. The developers have also started working on the mysterious Project G.G..

In an interview with journalists from Japanese magazine Famitsu (after Gematsu), Hideki Kamiya - head of PlatinumGames - confirmed that both Bayonetta 3 and the mysterious Project G.G. are still in development. Work on the former is reportedly going "great".

"First off, many people are worried about Bayonetta 3 considering there hasn’t been any new information since its announcement, but verifications of new systems have been going great and development is going very well, so please wait with peace of mind," said the creator, emphasizing that he is repeating his previous comment.

As for the second game, starring big mechs and announced in February this year, it is to be the first IP fully owned by PlatinumGames. Kamiya said only that the development has finally started.

"Also Project G.G. (title tentative) has finally started moving, so please look forward to it," said Kamiya.

The last game released so far by PlatinumGames was the very well received Astral Chain, which can only be played on the Nintendo Switch console (similarly to Bayonetta 3).
