PoE 2 0.2.1 update will improve endgame with powerful, hard-to-get runes. Unfortunately, its launch has been slightly delayed

Last week, Grinding Gear Games announced a major 0.2.1 update for Path of Exile 2. A lot of new content has been revealed, and they also mentioned that more cards will be revealed in the coming days. So it happened, and today we learned new details.

Socketables system

The socketables system aims to help players progress through the campaign by supplementing missing attributes or resistances. However, in the current state of PoE 2, a problem arises in the endgame, where it becomes less exciting due to the lack of more interesting options.

For this reason, in the 0.2.1 update, 22 new runes, 14 soul cores, and 7 talismans will be added. The first of them have just been revealed:

1. Hedgewitch Assadra's Rune of Wisdom - can be placed in a wand or staff, provides +1 level to all spells;
2. Farrul's Rune of the Chase - placed in boots, provides 5% movement speed;
3. The Greatwolf's Rune of Willpower - intended for the breastplate, it causes 10% of the damage received to be first taken from mana instead of life.
4. Tacti's Soul Core of Affliction - placed in the helmet, it reduces by 8% the resistance to chaos of opponents on whom we cast a curse;
5. Talisman of Thruldana - intended for martial weapons (any weapon with a regular attack), reduces the duration of poison by 25% and allows us to apply more of it to opponents.

As you can see, some of them are really useful and I imagine every witch would want to have a rune in their arsenal that gives an extra level to all spells. For this reason, as GGG claims, these will be valuable items to get, which will not be too easy to find.

It's worth mentioning that this week we'll get a sneak peek at some of the new, unique items. Unfortunately, there is also sad news - the devs need more time to polish the update, so it will launch next week.
