As previously announced, Grinding Gear Games studio has published an official announcement regarding the extension of the Legacy of Phrecia event to the first Path of Exile. By the way, the release window of the next league, which is eagerly awaited by players, was revealed.

Legacy of Phrecia extended

The devs confirmed that the ongoing event is enjoying considerable popularity and for this reason it will be extended. Let's recall that it was initially intended to last slightly more than a month and conclude on March 23. However, GGG gave players another month of play, and the new deadline was set for April 23rd.

Moreover, it was confirmed once again that the content of Legacy of Phrecia won't be permanently removed, and fans will be able to enjoy it in private leagues. Following April 23, the studio will introduce free templates that will be accessible for a month, enabling the creation of an event with a 20,000 player limit. We will learn more details on this topic in a few weeks.

Release window of the new league

What matters most to PoE fans is the information about the 3.26 update, which is the new league. GGG confirmed that it will be released in June this year, and we will receive the first details about the content after the end of Legacy of Phrecia. However, the devs assure that they already have a specific plan.

We have solid plans for 3.26 and we’re sure you'll love it.

This means that the current Settlers of Kalguur league will remain active for about 11 months, which is an incredibly long period. This was caused by the release of Path of Exile 2, which required so much work that the studio was unable to prepare a new league for the first installment on time.

Unfortunately, there is still a lot of time until June, so fans need to be patient. In the meantime, however, we will receive a major update for PoE 2, which will make the waiting time more pleasant for those who play both installments of the series.
