Project Sirius for Witcher TV Fans, Not Hardcore RPG Players

We are learning more and more information related to CD Projekt RED's upcoming productions. This time the details concern Project Sirius. According to the creators, the title will be aimed more at fans of the Netflix series than avid RPG players.

This week, we learned of CD Projekt RED's plans for its future activities in the game industry. Among the announcements, including the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 or the mysterious new IP - Project Hadar, there was also room to present further items from the universe of The Witcher. One of them is Project Sirius, developed by The Molasses Flood. Thanks to a Q&A session with Michal Nowakowski - vice president of business development - we learned a little more about this project (via gamesradar).

Project Sirius will not be a mobile game

During the investor call, Nowakowski revealed that Sirius is expected to reach a wider audience, even though it will not be a mobile game (there had previously been concerns that this was precisely the nature of the title).

"I can definitely say that Project Sirius is not a mobile game. When we're talking about this game, we're thinking about a broader demographic, which means we want to reach people we haven't necessarily reached effectively through previous games about The Witcher," Nowakowski said.

Game for fans of the show?

So what kind of person is to be the target audience of Sirius? It turns out that it will be aimed more towards casual, who are closer to the Netflix's The Witcher.

"So imagine people who may have watched the series, but don't necessarily like to play very dark, hardcore RPGs," Nowakowski added.

So it looks like Project Sirius will be sort of the opposite of Polaris, which is the first part of the new Witcher trilogy (and at the same time a continuation of Wild Hunt).

It is worth recalling at the end that Sirius will most likely contain procedurally generated elements. This is revealed in a job advertisement posted by CD Projekt RED. This is because the studio is looking for level designers, who will be required to create stages based on this very technology.
