PS4 Firmware 9.0 Adds Option to Browse Trophies From PS5 Games

Sony released a trial version of the PS4 software update to version 9.00. Those who previously signed up for the beta testing program received invitations on their email adresses with a code to download the new firmware.

Here are the new features prepared by the Japanese company:

1. the update added the option to view trophies from PS5 games on PS4;
2. in Messages you can now delete a group if you are the founder. Open the options menu, then select "Delete Group." Performing the action will delete the group for all its members;
3. when you block someone, you can choose to leave a group where only you and the blocked user belong. You will not leave groups that also include other members;
4. when a child sends a request to use the in-game communication feature, the parent or guardian will receive a notification on PS4 and in the PlayStation app.

As you can see, these are not stunning changes, although the option to view trophies from games released on PS5 may be useful to some user. Nevertheless, it's clear that all the attention of Sony engineers is focused on the development of PlayStation 5, which has recently received a new version of firmware to take advantage of internal NVMe SSDs.
