PS5 Pre-orders Completely Outshined Results of PlayStation 4

The gamers went after the PS5 like hungry wolves. After 12 hours, the number of pre-orders is as large as after 12 weeks for PlayStation 4.

Players can't wait for the next generation. This is best illustrated by the fact that in the USA, pre-orders of PlayStation 5 in the first twelve hours were as large as those of the PS4 in the first twelve weeks.

This comparison only applies to the pre-order period. In the case of PlayStation 4, more than 1 million Americans have pre-ordered the console. This means that the number of PS5 pre-orders in the US market must have already exceeded one million copies.

This news was shared by Jim Ryan, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, in an interview with Reuters. He warned that so many people want to buy PlayStation 5 that there may not be enough consoles for all interested. However, the company assures that it is doing its best to provide a supply that will meet the gamers' purchase needs by the end of the year.

Let us recall that PlayStation 5 will debut on November 12 in selected countries, including the United States and Japan, and on 19 for the rest of the world. The platform will be available in two variants - the standard PS5 and the cheaper PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which will have no optical drive.

First copies of the console have already been sent to various websites for testing.
