PUBG: New State Trailer Shows Many New Features

The new trailer for the mobile battle royale game PUBG: New State is full of vehicles, weapons and gadgets from the near future.

PUBG: New State is an upcoming spin-off to Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. The free-to-play game with microtransactions is likely to come out later this year and is already proving to be extremely popular. No wonder that the latest, 48-second trailer has generated a lot of interest.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • PUBG: New State will feature weapons, gadgets and vehicles from the near future;
  • The game still hasn't received an exact release date, but we can expect it this year;
  • The game will probably have a system of environment destruction (we don't know how advanced it is yet).

In the trailer we see the action like in a typical battle royale match - the player jumps out of a jet and after a series of shootouts and car chases finally defeats the other participants of the game. The less than one minute long clip is full of cinematic action, explosions, and high-tech gear.

As you can guess, the above trailer doesn't show actual gameplay, but it does show its highlights. Thanks to it we're able to see the weapon and slightly futuristic vehicle types we'll be able to use. One of the characters in the short clip has even a cybernetic leg.

An important part of any battle royale is the map on which players fight. The latest trailer shows a large portion of the Troy region, which will be featured in PUBG: New State. From wind turbine fields through urban areas to trailer parks, the locations in the upcoming game will be very diverse. In addition, we can see that the spin-off to Playerunknown's Battlegrounds may also feature an extensive damage system, allowing certain elements of the environment to shatter under fire.

The market for battle royale games is currently saturated. PUBG: New State will compete with its predecessor PUBG Mobile. In addition, we have Fortnite and various similar titles. I wonder how the new game by PUBG Studio will fare. I assume that the developers see an opportunity to win over players either with new mechanics, or a set of items and vehicles that look like those from the near future. We'll see for ourselves soon enough.
