Welcome again! It is time for Buzzwords. We start with culinary questions this week. I like them, but they are known to be the most difficult ones. So, I had some trouble answering the first of them. Especially since I rarely eat baked goods from other countries. I have a local bakery which I visit often. While they have delicious products, they do not offer any “foreign goods”. Fortunately, a little bit of Internet scrolling helped me. So, I am ready to share my knowledge with you!

1. Unleavened flatbread from India – Roti

Roti is a popular round bread which, as the hint states, originates from India. However, nowadays you can eat it in many places. Mostly in South Asia, East Africa and Caribbean. It is made from whole-wheat flower and water. It is a flat bread due to lack of any leaving (raising) agent. There are many types of this food, depending on kind of flour used or ingredients added.
