EA Maxis is increasingly hinting that something related to The Sims and The Sims 2 is coming, with fans expecting remasters of these two iconic installments of the series.
On January 14th, a stream of "Behind The Sims" took place, during which the EA Maxis studio announced how it would celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Sims series. The show left the fans disappointed, but now a spark of hope has been kindled in their hearts that they will soon receive something they truly desire.
From the mentioned stream, we learned that from January 27 to 31, it will be "Time for nostalgia." Nonetheless, it wasn't possible to say what lay behind this mysterious slogan.
Until now - as The Sims community has noticed, the official website of the series was updated today with a graphic depicting a character from the first game on the background of the interaction wheel from The Sims 2.

As if that wasn't enough, a 10-second teaser was released on X (below), in which crystals indicating the mood of the Sims from the first and the second installments were included. The post is marked with the message: "BRB" (Be Right Back).
So, unless we are dealing with wishful thinking, this may confirm the most popular theory regarding the "Time for Nostalgia" segment. It assumes that Electronic Arts will release remasters of the first and second installments of The Sims series, which - unlike The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 - have not been available for sale for a very long time. Their physical editions, kept in gamers' homes, can be rather challenging to run on current computers and operating systems.
Undoubtedly, EA Maxis will reveal their cards by January 31, when the "Time for Nostalgia" will come to an end. If not, fans can expect the desired news during the stream scheduled for February 4, 02:00 p.m. PT. So, it seems that being patience for so long won't be necessary.
