Upcoming Unreal Engine 5 Survival Game Rooted Draws on The Last Of Us

Unreal Engine 5 offers a huge amount of capabilities, and the Rooted project seems to take advantage of most of them. The game is at a very early stage of work, but it already impresses with visuals.

Hungry for hyper-realistic graphics and demonstrations of Unreal Engine 5 capabilities? You might like Rooted's survival game design. This production, developed by a group of five developers, offers not only detailed lighting and textures, but also advanced physics.

What is Rooted?

If a red flag went up in your head saying "wasn't that The Last Of Us?", you'd be right. The developers - sharing the game's logo on Twitter - wrote that while working on Rooted they we inspired by Naughty Dog's game.

On the subject of Rooted we don't know too much yet. We can even say that apart from the fact that it's a co-op survival game set in a world inspired by TLOU we actually don't know anything.

Boy, it this Unreal Engine 5 is pretty or what

Putting aside, however, the lack of any information about the game, the attention is definitely drawn to the physics. The developers have tried to realistically reproduce the behavior of items strapped to a backpack. We can already see that the moving character sets them in motion.

  2. Here, in turn, how the character reacts to the change of ground

Also dynamic lighting in the forest is to be impressive in Rooted, although in this matter it remains behind the refreshed Riverwood from Skyrim on UE5. Talking about other projects based on the new version of the engine, it is worth mentioning the horror game ILL, which is dynamically developed by Team Clout.

But coming back to the survival game inspired by TLOU - is the project worth following? That remains to be seen, because let's be honest - video games aren't just supposed to look pretty.
