Literally moments ago, a very interesting news broke. According to unconfirmed reports, Amazon is said to be interested in buying a stake in Electronic Arts. But is it really?

The dust has not yet settled after the sensational news from by ForTheWin, regarding plans for the alleged acquisition of EA by Amazon, and already we get another statement, this time contradicting it, from CNBC. However, in order to better understand the resulting confusion, I'll start at the beginning.

According to sources of a website belonging to USA Today, Amazon intends to acquire Electronic Arts, and an official announcement is expected later today. ForTheWin's journalists are echoed by a well-known industry leaker - Nibel, who shared the news via his Twitter account.

The veracity of these reports can be supported by recent rumors, according to which the developer and publisher of such games as Need for Speed, FIFA or Battlefield wants to find a powerful buyer, but so far no solid information has appeared in the media.

Journalists at USA Today speculate that Amazon may be interested in EA due to, among other things, its IPS - Mass Effect or Dragon Age - which will also be make into movies and TV series.
