Joker’s script went through a lot of modifications.

IN A NUTSHELL:

1. The script for Joker was changed a lot during the shooting;

2. The scenes were to be written in on the fly, just before the start of filming.

If you are waiting for the Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix, we’ve got some mildly disturbing news for you. It seems that the script of the production was completely rewritten during the shooting. What's more, the scenes were to be literally written minutes before filming. These revelations were presented by actress Zazie Beetz during an interview with MTV News.

Script was great. We rewrote the whole thing while we were shooting it. Literally, we would write the scene for the night and then do it. During hair and makeup we’d memorize those lines and then do them, and then we’d reshoot that three weeks later, said Zazie Beetz.

The information does not bode well for this production – we can only hope that despite having that particular character as the protagonist, the film will not turn out to be one great joke. We would like to remind you that Joker will be released in cinemas on October 4, 2019. Apart from Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator) and Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2) we will also see Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver), Shea Whigham (Vice), Bryan Callen (The Hangover), Brett Cullen (Dark Knight Rises), Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under), The most important actors are: Glenn Fleshler (Billions), Douglas Hodge (Penny Dreadful), Marc Maron (Glow), Bill Camp (The Night of), Jolie Chan (Single Blog), Josh Pais (Phone Booth), Dante Pereira-Olson (You Were Never Really Here) and Mary Kate Malat (Orange Is the new Black). Todd Phillips (The Hangover) is responsible for directing.
