Sea of Stars is an RPG hailed as the best indie game of 2023 at The Game Awards gala. It turns out that the title is also very popular.

  1. The devs boasted, that so far Sea of Stars has been played by more than 4 million people.
  2. This figure should not be confused with sales. After all, the title is available through Game Pass and PS Plus Extra subscriptions.
  3. However, even taking this into account, crossing the threshold of 4 million players is a great achievement for an indie game, especially since Sea of Stars took a mere four months to do so.

Unfortunately, we don't know the actual sales results. All that is known is that in the first 24 hours Sea of Stars moved more than 100 thousand copies, and after a week this number had risen to 250 thousand.

The game was released on August 29 - simultaneously on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and was received very warmly. On OpenCritic it has an average rating of 89%. In turn on Steam 88% of all player reviews are positive, and counting only those from the last 30 days - as many as 94% praise the title.

Removed NPC

It is also worth mentioning that the devs have decided to remove from the game a character based on a youtuber known as The Completionist. All because he was accused of cheating during charity collections. A patch introducing this change is expected to arrive within days.
