Shadow Warrior 3 Reviews - Short but Intense

Shadow Warrior 3 has already hit the reviewers. The Polish FPS gets a lot of praise for combat mechanics, but many find it too short.

Lo Wang's third adventure is just around the corner, but we don't have to wait much longer for the first opinions. Shadow Warrior 3reviews have appeared online. Among them is the text of our service, which you can find at the link below.

  1. Shadow Warrior 3 Review: Wang-Boom-Bang!

Shadow Warrior 3 is already a success

Before reading it is worth noting that the new Shadow Warrior has already been hailed a success by its publisher. Devolver Digital boasted about it on Twitter, although it didn't specify whether it was about ratings or pre-orders of the game (the latter is more likely).

Shadow Warrior 3 is unlikely to compete for the title of the best game of 2022, but it did not bring shame to the developers. Flying Wild Hog has delivered an old-school and action-packed production, which the reviewers liked - although not without some reservations.

Great action, but humor not for everyone

The title receives praise mainly for the action, dynamic and fast-paced in the style of old FPS games and their modern imitators such as Doom Eternal.. Fighting off hordes of enemies with a variety of weapons, grappling hook, and the "Gore Weapons" you can earn from executions is very satisfying, especially with such good audiovisuals and excellent level design.

However, there are elements that some reviewers did not like. This applies, for example, to the game's humor. Lo Wang in Shadow Warrior 3 is just as talkative as he was in previous games, and he continues to make comments that will amuse some, embarrass others, and annoy the rest. It's possible that this will be a bigger obstacle for players than other flaws. Speaking of which...

A short, one-time (?) journey

There are a number of allegations against SW 3, even down to those that appear in many of the texts. In addition to the aforementioned humor, some critics were frustrated by the game's technical issues, although some of these were fixed with a patch released before the embargo on reviews was lifted. Some were also bothered by the game's linearity (understandable in this genre, though) or the lack of "deviation" from the standard gameplay formula.

However, the most common complaints are about the length of the game. Shadow Warrior 3 was priced like a AAA production, but it can be completed in just 5-10 hours. And like really completed. The game doesn't encourage you to go through it again too much, except for the gameplay itself.

At the moment we won't find here neither additional modes, nor a choice of chapters to play. Perhaps this will change after the release, but for now it seems that SW3 will not last long.

That and the other problems mentioned above aside, Shadow Warrior 3 is a good game for those who are looking for a dynamic old-school FPS. You can see for yourself tomorrow, when the game debuts on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (it will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as part of backwards compatibility).
