Can't Wait for Dragon Age 4? Here's an Ersatz in Skyrim

Skyrim has received a modification inspired by BioWare games. The project is called Warden of the Coast and offers a new story and significant changes to companion mechanics.

Skyrim's modding scene is huge. New, often impressive projects are constantly being created. Two days ago we saw the release of another one - Warden of the Coast. The whole project is inspired by BioWare games, such as Dragon Age. On this occasion, a trailer was published, available below.

A creator nicknamed TheBawb is responsible for the modification. The description posted on Nexus Mods shows that the project introduces two new areas and is comparable in size to a sizable DLC. The story provides 10-15 hours of gameplay and offers five different endings. A total of about 9,000 dialogue lines were prepared for the project. All of them were fully voiced by 27 voice actors.

Warden of the Coast also emphasizes companion mechanics. The author has created a system that is deceptively reminiscent of the one known from Dragon Age. During the game you can travel with up to three companions. Each of them can be levelled up and new skills can be unlocked for them. If, on the other hand, they fall in battle, we can easily resurrect them.

The modification introduces a total of nine companions, each of which offers its own unique loyalty quest. In addition, the romance option is provided for seven of them. There is also the reaction of companions to our actions and choices.

Keep in mind that the creators plans to continue to develop the project and add new content to it. If you are interested, you can download it via the link below. The whole thing weighs just over 2 GB and runs only on the Special Edition of the game.
