Some Features in Gran Turismo 7 Will Require Internet Connection

The release of Gran Turismo 7 is fast approaching and we get to know more and more about the game. The latest information is that internet connection will be required to fully enjoy the game.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. The article posted on PlayStation blog reveals that many features of the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 will require an internet connection.

The launch of Gran Turismo is slowly approaching (scheduled for March 4, 2022). No wonder the developers decided to share a few details about the title. An article has appeared on the PlayStation blog that gives a little insight into what we can expect from the seventh installment.

In Gran Turismo 7 fans will find even more of what they love. There will be changing weather conditions, photo opportunities for our cars with a variety of advanced features, tuning options, and fan-favorite tracks with lots of collectible vehicles. It promises to be one of those "bigger and better" follow-ups.

Some gamers are worried by the note underneath the article: "These features require internet connection". It turns out that even the returning campaign mode will require network access - and it's not the only feature with such a requirement.

Many players do not hide their surprise at such a decision of the developers. A thread was created on Reddit with a discussion on the topic. CeejayMode, one of the forum members, came up with an theory that GT7 could work in a similar way to GT Sport. Offline play would be possible, but in a rather truncated form and without the ability to save progress.

How much the network connection (or lack thereof) will affect the gameplay, will most likely be revealed only at the time of the game's release. Until then, those who do not have comfortable access to the Internet should keep a close eye on the situation.
