Sonic Rides the Wave - Trailers for Sonic Frontiers and the Second Movie
During The Game Awards 2021 we received two interesting trailers related to the famous Sonic the Hedgehog. The former offers a look at the second movie, and the latter announces a new game from the series.
The presence of the super-fast blue hedgehog known as Sonic, SEGA's mascot, was quite evident at this year's The Game Awards. He made an appearance in the form of two trailers. In the first, we saw clips from the sequel to the 2020 movie. The hedgehog must join forces with Tails and Tom, known from the previous movie, to save the world from the temptations of the evil Dr. Robotnik (also known as Eggman), who is aided by Knuckles. The movie will debut on April 8, 2022, starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden, among others.
The second TGA trailer with Sonic in the lead role shows a new game with his participation. We learned about its creation back in May, but only now the devs revealed its full title - Sonic Frontiers. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch and will be released during Christmas 2022. More details about it will be released in the coming months.
