Sons of the Forest Sold Millions of Copies in 24 Hours

On Thursday, Sons of the Forest, a survival game and a sequel to the hit The Forest, launched in Early Access. The game turned out to be a great success - the studio responsible for it, Endnight Games, has revealed preliminary sales results and they are very impressive.

1. Sons of the Forest sold more than 2 million copies in 24 hours after release.
2. Since its debut, the game has practically never left the first place of the list of global bestsellers on Steam.
3. The project also achieves high activity scores - it has set a new record every day since its release. Yesterday at the hottest time of the day Sons of the Forest was played on Steam 411,999 concurrent players.
4. At the time of writing this news, it is the fourth most popular game on Steam. Higher activity results have only been achieved by three free-to-play items in the form of CS:GO, Dota 2 and Apex Legends.
5. For comparison - the all-time activity record of the first The Forest is 76,000 players.
6. Sons of the Forest is not only selling brilliantly, but is also meeting with a warm reception. On Steam 83% of player reviews are favorable, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.

Recall that the game is available only on PC. It can be purchased on Steam, in Early Access. The developers anticipate that the Early Access period of Sons of the Forest will last about 6-8 months, but it may be extended if necessary.

The scale of the game's success is not surprising, as everyone expected it to be a bestseller. Shortly before its release, the game even overtook Starfield in terms of the number of players following the title on Steam and became the most anticipated game on Valve's service.
