Sony Interactive Entertainment Buys Insomniac Games

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it has become the owner of the award-winning studio - Insomniac Games, responsible for hits such as Marvel's Spider-Man and the Ratchet & Clank and Spyro series. The acquisition of the team is the crowning achievement of over twenty years of cooperation between the two companies.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has just announced in an official press release, that it has entered the final stage of the process of purchasing the American team at Insomniac Games. Once completed, the team will join the global family of in-house developer teams of Sony, while retaining its current shape and structure. Existing for over 25 years Insomniac Games for nearly two decades has worked closely with Sony, preparing for the company many exclusive titles such as Marvel's Spider-Man (launch in 2018), as well as developing the popular series Spyro the Dragon (first installment from 1998), Ratchet & Clank (first installment in 2002) and Resistance (first installment from 2006).
