Squad arrives at Steam Early Access and is going to stay there for a year

Early version of Squad is going to arrive at Steam today. The tactical online shooter from the creators of Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2 is going to remain in Early Access for about a year.

Squad is doing quite well these days – the game has been receiving frequent content updates through its official website and now managed to make its way to Steam in less than six months since the conclusion of its Kickstarter campaign. This tactical online shooter developed by the creators of Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2 is going to launch as a Steam Early Access title today. The initial version offers infantry combat and base building with other gameplay features (including drivable vehicles and new factions) to follow. Ultimately, the game will support 100 player servers (50 vs. 50) and all sorts of vehicles, from motorbikes to jets and helicopters.

You have to be extra careful while playing Squad – this is not a modern action game.

Squad is expected to remain in Early Access until the end of 2016. What makes the game stand out from the crowd of online multiplayer shooters is its realistic approach to gameplay, especially combat system. As for now there are no plans to port this PC title to consoles.
