Stardew Valley was only supposed to receive a few minor details, but Eric „Concerned Ape” Barone has apparently doubled down and update 1.6 will add a multitude of good things.
It appears that a recent teaser published by Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone did not herald the imminent release of a new update for the developer's popular game. Instead the developer of Stardew Valley posted a graphic with a list of changes to be introduced by version 1.6.
We had known about some of the news for months, including new items, festivals and secrets. This was enough to pique the interest of fans.
However, this is only a modest part of the list, which Barone shared today on Twitter.

Such a long list of changes was quite a surprise for the players (by the way not only for them), even if you ignore the doubling of the multiplayer limit. So far, Barone presented version 1.6 as a minor update, adding a few minor details and facilities for modders. Apparently, the developer has changed his mind and it will be an unscheduled major update.
Stardew Valley 1.6 so far has no release date. It is possible that at the time of release the list of changes will still grow. Even if it won't ultimately be a giant update, the fact that Barone is still developing the game after the "final" content pack from 2020 (and having a second project on his hands - the Haunted Chocolatier), clearly pleased fans.
