Starfield Rumored to Launch in 2021, Presentation Around E3

Reports that Bethesda is 90% certain to show Starfield around this year's E3 have surfaced on the web. There are also chances for the game to be released later this year.

RUMOR HIGHLIGHTS:
  1. Bethesda will show Starfield around this year's E3;
  2. The presentation will probably not be an official part of the fair, but it should take place at a similar time,
  3. The game's release is planned for this year, but it may be delayed due to the coronavirus.

We still don't know when Starfield, the new IP from Bethesda Softworks, will be shown. We were hoping to see some fresh footage when the company's acquisition by Microsoft was finalized, but that didn't happen. Now there are reports that the presentation of the project will take place in June.

Their source is the usually well-informed journalist from VentureBeat, Jeff Grubb. During the Real Deal Xbox podcast, he stated that he's 90% sure that Starfield will be shown around the E3. Recall that this year's edition of the event will be digital and held on June 15-17, 2021. However, Microsoft intends to host its own presentation, which does not necessarily have to take place on the aforementioned date. We would be surprised, however, if it was scheduled for another month.

What's more, according to Grubb, Bethesda wants to release Starfield later this year, as long as pandemic-related delays don't make it impossible. Such a strategy would be nothing new for Bethesda, as Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 were released the same way, with both games coming out the same year they were revealed at E3.

The wait for Starfield has been very long. The project was announced in 2018, but so far we've only received a teaser that doesn't say much. We hope that the latest reports will turn out to be true and in June we will finally get to see the game in action.
