Steam presents extremely useful feature. Players will be warned if game in Steam Early Access is neglected
Valve is introducing a feature that will give users insight into which game available in Steam Early Access is rarely updated by developers.

When deciding to purchase a game in early access, players expect that the given title will be consistently developed by its creators. In the end, we all want to know that our money is well spent. Fortunately, thanks to the new feature on Steam, players will have full transparency in this matter.
From a post published by the SteamDB profile on X, it appears that the mentioned feature involves displaying a warning when a game available on Steam Early Access hasn't been updated for a long time. The information will be visible in the "Early Access Game" section.
However, this system needs refinement, as it may mislead users. One example is the RPG Heartbound, which, according to the game card, hasn't been updated in over 13 months (via TechRaptor).
However, as someone noticed, the latest update of Heartbound was released at the beginning of this month. Even if it wasn't included, there is still a patch that, according to another user, was added to the game in April 2024, which is just under 13 months ago.
Another interesting example is the game Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. In March 2024, the developers released a game demo in early access, providing enough content for 2-4 hours of gameplay. They followed this with a few minor hotfixes but didn't release any further updates until the release of version 1.0, which took place in January 2025.
Nevertheless, it's a very interesting feature. If this function works as intended, it could discourage many people from purchasing games that have been abandoned by their creators.
