Naughty Dog revealed new information about The Last of Us: Part 2 Remastered for PC. In addition to the system requirements and graphical features, fresh content awaits players.
Regarding the upcoming release of The Last of Us: Part II Remastered on PC, Naughty Dog studio has shared some new details on their blog. At the outset, it was noted that the title includes all the improvements and features that appeared in the version released on PlayStation 5 in 2024. They include: the roguelike survival mode No Return, Guitar Free Play, and many hours of developer commentary.
The release of The Last of Us: Part II Remastered on PC will take place on April 3, 2025.
The PC version of the game has been optimized to make the most of players' high-performance hardware setups. The title will support technologies such as Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution, AMD FSR 3.1, and AMD FSR 4, with scaling and frame generation functions, VSync, and frame rate limitations.
Support for ultrawide monitors has also been added, with the ability to display images in a 48:9 aspect ratio.
In terms of control, the game will offer full mapping and an adaptive mode, which will allow the use of a keyboard and controller.
With the release, two characters from the first installment of TLoU - Bill and Marlene - will be introduced to the survival mode. Just like other characters, they also have a unique gameplay style. Bill is a "smuggler" who can gain access to a non-standard shotgun and also receive double rewards after defeating enemies. Meanwhile, Marlene will offer a "gambler" style of play, which includes a non-standard assault rifle and "All or nothing" gambits.
Besides the characters, four new maps were also added:
Fresh content, along with new trophies, will also be available to console version owners in the form of a free patch, which will be available for download on the day of the premiere. Furthermore, PC players who log into their PlayStation Network account will gain access to 50 in-game points and a new skin for Ellie - Jordan A. Mun's jacket from the upcoming Naughty Dog studio game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
