Project Sirius, the Witcher online game from The Molasses Flood, will most likely feature an open world.
Job listings are often a great source of information about undisclosed projects. The latest example of this has become Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set in the universe of The Witcher, which is being developed by CD Projekt-owned American studio The Molasses Flood.
It is worth adding that The Flame in the Flood, the debut game of The Molasses Flood, was an opne-world survival game. That title was designed for a single player, but it's possible that Project Sirius will offer an expansion of at least some of these ideas in a multiplayer format.
Work on Project Sirius has encountered considerable problems. There have even been reports that the project had been rebooted, but CD Projekt quickly dismissed this speculation. Instead, it was stated that the game's development framework has been redefined, which will allow for faster work, while using previously completed elements.
All of this doesn't tell us much, but the fact that The Molasses Flood is hiring additional staff seems like a good sign, especially considering that back in May the team saw some layoffs. It remains to be hoped that the new framework for the project turned out to be a good fit and work is proceeding at the right pace.
Project Sirius is not the only Witcher game currently in development. Work is also underway on Project Polaris (commonly referred to as The Witcher 4) and Canis Majoris (a remake of the first The Witcher).
