„This is so terrible, I love it!” Fans react to Cyberpunk 2077’s new broken feature

Cyberpunk 2077 will not be forgotten anytime soon. CD Projekt RED constantly reminds us about this game by various updates. It received version 2.3 just yesterday (July 17, 2025). The list of novelties is not spectacularly long, but includes some interesting entries. Among other things, it contains bugfixes, new cars and fresh options in photo mode. However, there is one particularly hilarious feature (inspired by YouTube videos) – autodrive.

Cyberpunk’s 2077 autodrive is so bad that it's good

In my opinion, one of the funniest things in Cyberpunk 2077 is Delamain Cab that we receive as a reward for completing Don't Lose Your Mind quest. A self-driving vehicle that for a long time we had to drive manually. It’s a paradox. Now, after 2.3 update, the situation is a little bit different. We can call for a taxi that takes us to a specific destination.

That is not all, CDPR also introduced autodrive that can be used in all our cars. So, we can just relax and calmy admire the view, right? Unfortunately, the trip is nowhere near “calm.” This feature works “great.” I tested it and I’m sure that a person with motion sickness would experience the most traumatic moments of their life in such a car. One player on Reddit summed up the situation perfectly.

However, we should also appreciate its comedic value and funny videos that surely will emerge in the future. As one of the Reddit users said:

What is going on? A vehicle using autodrive constantly breaks, even when you are on a straight road and no one is around. You can imagine that AI has even greater problems with tighter turns. I experienced the situation when the car didn’t make a turn correctly, hit a barricade and started spinning in the middle of the road. Even something as simple as changing lanes can be problematic – our car slows down to the point it almost stops, and makes a sudden turn (we can also give bonus points for hitting another car during the maneuver). It seems that everything works as intended.

So, you can experience many awesome events while using autodrive – all you have to do is choose the destination and activate this feature.
