Town to City is the Zen of city builders, letting you manage your little settlement however you like, no rush

Town to City is the perfect city builder for people who hate too much stress. No timers, no disasters – just you, your village, and endless cozy possibilities.

As a huge fan of city builders, I have to admit, I actually enjoy the pressure and chaos of managing everything and dealing with unexpected situations. So I wasn’t expecting a cozy take on the genre to win me over. But after trying Town to City demo, it all made sense. No wonder it’s sitting at 97% positive reviews on Steam.

Unwinding with voxel charm

Instead of focusing on high-stakes challenges and micromanagement, Town to City lets you grow your town at your own pace. You’ll start with a small village and gradually expand into a bustling city, all while just enjoying chill vibes, charming voxel-art visuals, and satisfying progression.

It’s kind of like slipping into full creative mode, Tiny Glade style, but with a dash of management and goals to keep things interesting. You’re not going to feel stressed out here, if you want to focus on designing your perfect little neighbourhood without pausing the game, go for it. Your town won’t fall apart; nobody’s going to die or pack up and leave. The worst that’ll happen is your villagers might get a little bummed while you’re busy making the market square just the way you pictured it.

To keep you engage, your townsfolk will ask a bunch of requests your way, but no pressure. If you’d rather deal with them later, go for it.

From Station to Station to serenity

I only played a few hours of the demo, but I feel like I’ve got the full picture here – and I’m sold. That said, I wasn’t expecting anything less from Galaxy Grove, as I’m a big fan of their last game, Station to Station. I’ve sunk countless hours into that cozy little train puzzler and unlocked every achievement, so I had a feeling their take on a city builder would hit just right too.

Town to City is set to launch sometime in 2025, but there’s no exact date yet. Though the demo alone offers plenty to do. What starts as “just gonna try this out” can quickly turn into hours flying by. It nails the perfect balance between relaxing gameplay and juggling tasks to keep you hooked.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
