Capcom's lecture on optimizing MH: Wilds has been canceled. The reason may be threats from players who are unhappy with the current state of the game.

On July 22-24, the CEDED 2025 conference will take place in Japan, during which Capcom is supposed to lead a special panel on optimizing Monster Hunter: Wilds. However, the conference was canceled, most likely due to threats directed at the developers (via Automaton).
A few days ago, Capcom released a statement about the harassment of its employees. The text assures that all opinions and requests of customers are taken very seriously, but this type of behavior won't be tolerated. An "appropriate response" was announced, and in more serious cases even legal action will be taken.
The statement didn't specify that it's specifically about the creators of Monster Hunter: Wilds. However, we can guess this by looking at the "overwhelmingly negative" reception of the game on Steam.
In the last 30 days, the title has been rated by over 20,000 users, with only 12% of the reviews being positive. All reviews look a bit better, although far from ideal - 53% of them are positive. The game has been criticized for poor optimization since its launch, and even a large update released in June, which was supposed to help regain players' trust, did little good.
However, returning to the conference, Capcom didn't officially confirm that it was canceled due to threats from players. However, the extremely negative reviews of MH: Wilds and the company's recent statement clearly connect with each other, allowing to draw an obvious conclusion. No wonder that the devs don't want to speak publicly for fear of further harassment.
This is not the only unsuccessful Capcom port on PC. Released last year, Dragon's Dogma 2 is still receiving negative reviews on Steam due to performance issues, although it's not as serious as in the case of MH: Wilds. One of the earlier games in the series, MH: World, also had some issues when it was released, but it was fixed much more smoothly.
Monster Hunter: Wilds launched on February 28th on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. Despite the issues, the game had a great start and quickly became the fastest-selling title in Capcom's history.
