Ubisoft Pulls Its Games From Sale in Russia

Ubisoft is joining the ranks of companies that have pulled their games from sale in Russia. It is also helping its employees from Ukraine to flee the war-torn country.

The imposition of sanctions on Russia continues. This time the already sizeable chain of companies excluding Russia from the global market was joined by Ubisoft. As reported by Bloomberg, the company suspends sales of its products in Russia.

Ubisoft follows in the footsteps of competitors

As communicated by a spokesman for the corporation, it withdraws from sale both physical and digital copies of its games from the country.

Of course, the French developer is not the pioneer in this matter. For several days now we've heard (and probably will hear) about other companies taking similar steps.

In the context of Ubisoft, it should also be mentioned that it has two branches located in Ukraine - in Kiev and Odessa.

A spokesman assures that the company has extended a helping hand to those who have decided to flee the country by arranging housing for them in neighboring countries.

Avalanche of sanctions

In addition to video game development studios, other industries are also imposing restrictions on Russia. A case in point is yesterday's decision by Netflix to withdraw its service from there or the quite large list of of technology companies that have cut their ties with the country.
