According to credible rumors, Ubisoft wanted to release 10 games in the Assassin's Creed series within 5 years. However, the delay of AC Shadows is supposed to have postponed those plans.
Assassin fans are currently mainly looking forward to the release of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, but there is also increasing talk of a yet-to-be-officially revealed remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It turns out that these two projects were just the beginning of a flood of new installments in the series.
So far we know about AC: Shadows, the remake of Black Flag, Assassin's Creed: Hexe and the mobile Assassin's Creed: Jade, which according to Henderson is set to debut in the second quarter of next year. This includes Animus Hub, a service set to launch with Shadows, which will connect all new installments of the series, but over time will also offer its own multiplayer modes (including Assassin's Creed: Invictus, which is rumored to be inspired by the hit Fall Guys).
We also learned a bit about further plans. It is known that Ubisoft wants to release a new main installment of the series every two years, so of the remaining five at least one should be such a project, and it will most likely be the next game from the Quebec branch responsible for Syndicate, Odyssey and the upcoming Shadows. We also know that the Ubisoft Bordeaux team, the creators of Assassin's Creed: Mirage, is also working on a new game. When recruiting for the game, the studio only revealed that it's a "New World". Additionally, Ubisoft Sofia (AC Rogue and Dawn of Ragnarok) is developing Project Nebula, which may be an installment set in the Aztec Empire, India, and the Mediterranean region.
The next game in the series will be Assassin's Creed: Shadows, which is coming to PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The game's premiere was recently postponed to February 14, 2025.
