The beginning of 2024 seems to be getting better and better for RPG fans. The sizable list of games in this genre, which are expected to debut in the first months of next year, has been joined by Unforetold: Witchstone (previously Project Witchstone), a title being developed by studio Spearhead Games.

The game, which will be released in early access on January 25, 2024, was reminded by the devs during the recent PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, who presented a short teaser (below).

On the occasion, the developers shared information on some of the systems that will go into the game (below).

  • The developers assure that in Unforetold: Witchstone players will enjoy great freedom in the choice of actions - which is to resemble tabletop RPG sessions.
  • An important aspect is to be the "dexterity" of the characters we direct and the reaction of the world to their actions.
  • Dialogues in the game will be enriched by an influence system, in which we will first make a choice, and then determine "how we want to address the issue"; of course, success or failure in persuasion will be determined by numerous modifiers and a dice roll.
  • The game will offer a turn-based combat system. The team from Spearhead Games wants to emphasize the tactical aspect of the game, consistent with the dialogue system, giving players time and plenty of room to maneuver.

Unforetold: Witchstone is currently heading exclusively for PC. The title can be added to your wish list on Steam.
