Even though Dark and Darker isn't available on Steam, you can still experience the game through alternative sources. Despite encountering several issues, the developers continue to work on the game, striving to improve it by frequently releasing patches and updates. One of the recent additions has introduced a new in-game item called Rotten Fluids. In this guide, we'll explain what you can do with it.

What to Do with Rotten Fluids in Dark and Darker

Being here, means that you have found Rotten Fluids and don’t know what to do with this item. Many players were surprised that this loot cannot be sold to anyone, even to Collector. The answer is simple – it is an important part of a crafting recipe.

Go to the Weaponsmith, this merchant will allow you to make Spear of Rot. It is a legendary item. To complete this recipe, you have to gather:

  1. 1 Spear,
  2. 2 Rotten Fluids,
  3. 5 Moldy Bread,
  4. 3 Gold Ingot,
  5. 50 Coins.

If you are not interested in this weapon, and don’t want Rotten Fluids to occupy your stash slots, you have to take this ingredient with you on the run. Simply leave it on the map, as there are no vendors who can buy it.

However, it is possible that Rotten Fluids will be useful in the future in other ways, for example to make different items. If you are short of space, you should leave it for now in your stash.
