Whore of the Orient apparently cancelled

Whore of the Orient, the next game from the creators of L.A. Noire’s, is apparently cancelled according to what its producer said.

Whore of the Orient—the second game from the ex team members of the now-defunct Team Bondi, the creators of L.A. Noire—has apparently been cancelled and will never see the light of day. This information was shared by its former producer Derek Proud—a veteran developer, currently a director at Garoo Games, that previously worked on such series as Harry Potter and Total War—during a conversation with Guy ‘Yug’ Blomberg in this week’s Gamehugs podcast. Even though he did not explicitly say “cancelled”, he made it clear that despite the teams’ best efforts, the project is ultimately dead and will never come to fruition. According to Proud, having acquired what was left of Team Bondi in August 2011, Kennedy Miller Mitchell (KMM) did not care much for Whore of the Orient’s team, but the specific reasons for KMM Interactive Productions’ decision are unknown.

Whore of the Orient was to be L.A. Noire’s spiritual successor and take us to an intriguing setting of China in the 30s and 40s of the last century. Hadn’t it been cancelled, the title would have launched for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
