Witchfire - New Gameplay and Behind the Scenes

The Astronauts shared a short video material presenting the gameplay in Witchfire. The video was accompanied by a new development blog, in which Adrian Chmielarz reveals the backstage of the game's development.

Visually, it's ok, but what about the gameplay?

Almost two years have passed since Witchfire was announced. During this period the devs shared information about the title from time to time. A few hours ago, a short video material presenting gameplay appeared on YouTube (on studio's official channel). The company's website also published a new entry concerning the progress in the developing the game. Before we go into the news shared by Adrian Chmielarz's team, take a look at the following gameplay.

As you can see, the material starts from the stage on the beach, where the hero's task is to break through the waves of enemies. Internal Demo 2 (this is the title of the video and the current playable version) contains four types of guns and several spells, as well as six types of opponents, including a boss. At the current stage of development the game has three battle zones (i.e. maps), a new HUD (although the creators emphasize that a lot can still change) and an improved damage system.

In the aforementioned entry the devs also shared their opinions on what went well during the production and what still needs to be polished. On the positive side, the devs are above all satisfied with the fluidity of the game, because, as they admit, they have not yet started the real work on optimization. Additionally, they inform that they have a well-established idea for the structure of the whole title and the whole available arsenal. As for the negatives, it's only a fact that the studio has few employees. Adrian Chmielarz writes that there are only 9 people working on the game. Spells and the player warning system also require attention (and therefore time).

Witchfire was announced on PC, but we still do not know the exact release date, although the developers declared a year ago that the FPS will be released in 2020.
